Unalaska Video Challenge
RULES
- Unalaska Video Challenge runs December 1, 2011 to January 20, 2012. Unalaska Community Broadcasting Inc reserves the right to adjust any deadline(s) as the result of causes beyond its immediate control.
- Each submission must be original and created entirely by entrant. Submissions may include materials which are in the public domain or for which you have obtained the prior written permission or clearance of the owner. Submissions must not incorporate or include anything that violates any law or the copyright, trademark, publicity right, privacy right or any other right of any third party.
- No limit to video submission.
- Your film or video must be thirty (30) seconds to five (5) minute in length. Submissions can be in any style or genre of film or video, including, but not limited to, animation, drama, still art, imagery, comedy or documentary.
- Keep it clean. We have a diverse audience. The depiction of violence, profanity, sex, drinking, doing drugs, and the inclusion of attacks on individuals or organizations, otherwise offensive material, or any other violation of the contest rules will result in the video's disqualification from this contest.
- One or more the following elements should be in the video
- “Channel 8 Unalaska” and “KUCB” in the script
- Unalaska sceneries
- A homage to a challenge production
- A direct reference to channel 8, or any of its local productions
- Local landmarks
- Local people
- KUCB dish or Burma Road Chapel
- Preferred format is .avi or .mov either in SD or HD
HOW TO ENTER
Starting December 1, 2011, enter up to ten videos (per participant). We encourage you to attend workshops designed to help you. Production workshop is scheduled for Dec 2, 2011, 6-8 pm and Dec 3, 2011, 1-3 pm at channel 8 studio. Post production workshop is scheduled for Dec 23, and 30, 2011 6-8 pm at channel 8 studio. If you cannot make these dates, please call Pipa for an appointment. Channel 8 has cameras that can be lent out only if trained. Volunteer computers are limited and must be scheduled to accommodate all participants.
JUDGING AND PRIZES
The videos will be aired on Channel 8 TV and possibly on a drive-in film festival. There will be a viewer’s choice award and winner will have bragging rights.
RIGHTS
You will retain all rights to any video you submit—including ownership if applicable—other than those rights licensed in these rules. By entering the Unalaska Video Challenge, you hereby grant Unalaska Community Broadcasting:
(i) a nonexclusive, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free license to reproduce, distribute, publicly display, and publicly perform the video(s) you submit to the Unalaska Video Challenge, and
(ii) the right to use your name in promotions and other publications.
THE FINE PRINT
The Video Challenge is open to participants meeting our eligibility requirements regardless of residence or citizenship, so long as the laws of their jurisdiction allow participation. Please review these Unalaska Video Challenge Rules before participating.
