Ways to Connect

Attention KUCB Web Users:  Our organization is launching a brand new website.  We are excited to premiere our new look, and we expect to start the roll-out on Wednesday, November 18th.  Please expect broken links, and possible full web outages, as we transition to the new system. We expect our new page to be fully functional by Monday, November 23rd.  We appreciate your patience.  Please let us know what you think of the new look!

Every Wednesday, Channel 8 produces Flash! Unalaska.  The program has been on the air since 1988.  That means that hundreds of people have volunteered to appear on local television.  We are looking for your help preserving the valuable content produced by Channel 8 over the years.   If you value Unalaska's video history, think about donating to our Adopt-a-Tape program.  We have lots of cool premiums that come with a donation, including an I Flashed Unalaska t-shirt.

Unalaska Community Broadcasting was recently included in the American Archive Content Inventory Program through the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and this allowed us to create a database of all of the tapes in our collection.  The AACIP program then funded the professional digitization of 65 tapes.  UCB footed the bill to digitize an additional 73 at-risk and high priority tapes at the same time.  One of the tapes that was chosen for digitization was the epic Crab Terror, produced by Channel 8 in 1984.  You can find the program in its entirety below.
