MCT Performance of Aladdin Offers 1001 Laughs

The Missoula Children's Theatre has been a vibrant part of spring in Unalaska for over 12 years, and this year was no exception.  The Missoula Children's Theatre's mission is build life skills in children through participation in the performing arts.   Two person teams travel to communities all around the United States, where they recruit local youth and cast, rehearse, and perform a play in 5 days.

This year, more than 50 local children performed the musical Aladdin.  In addition to the on-stage talent, several kids assisted behind the scenes. They were taught how to operate lighting and sound equipment and they aided in stage directing.  Missoula's version of  Aladdin included an assortment of stories from the famous Arabian tales.  Full of memorable characters from lost penguins to talking palm trees, it was an adventure worthy of 1001 laughs.

Watch Flash! Unalaska this weekend, April 29th - May 1st at 8pm and 10pm to see a recap of the musical, and watch for the full performance next week.
