UCSD Student of the Week: Alyssa Mina

UCSD

The High School Department Selected Alyssa as Student of the Week (Nov. 30—Dec. 4, 2015)  for the following reasons:

Allysa Mina is challenging herself by tackling “Medical Terminology and Transcription” in the business lab and she is doing a great job. Allysa comes to class prepared and gets right to work. She is the Secretary of Business Professionals of America and will be traveling to the CTSO State Competition this spring to compete in Medical Office Procedures. I know that she will be prepared for that competition and will do a good job. Congratulations, Allysa.~Ms. Gurley, Business Teacher

Allysa is an incredibly dedicated student who takes on every book and writing project with vigor. She cheerfully accepts criticism, reentering her writing with a keen eye for revision; she gets the most out of her reading by challenging herself and taking in-depth notes; and she is a very positive addition to the classroom environment. Keep up the great work, Allysa!  ~Ms. Purevsuren, English

She's not just known for having a golden arm, due to her excellent throw-ing abilities. Allysa Mina comes everyday with a motivation to learn, while displaying a vibrant and positive attitude. Being self-motivated is rare, but she's got it! Whatever I ask of Allysa she does the above and beyond requirement. Awesome girl to be around. I am thankful to have a student like Allysa in class. Sweet work Allysa! Keep showing the world what you can do! ~ Mr. Clausius, PE/Health Teacher

Allysa is the daughter of Warlito & Virginia Mina.
