Conditions were crisp and clear last Wednesday evening, which made for ideal running conditions at the annual Turkey Trot 5K run.
Trotters of all ages and speeds gathered at the Aquatic Center to check in and sip hot cocoa provided by the PCR.
Around 7pm, runners and walkers made their way to Kelty Field and back, often high-fiving fellow participants as they passed.
The winner of this run was not the first to cross the finish line, but the largest donor for the charity associated with the event, St. Jude’s Childrens hospital. The PCR staff was there to greet finishers with Thanksgiving dinner fixings including a Turkey, ingredients for a sweet potato casserole and a pumpkin pie!
Overall the Turkey Trot was a great success and a fun event to start the holiday season.
