Unalaska's Josh Good made an ambitious new year's resolution last January - to kayak for at least 30 minutes on 300 days during 2015.

That meant lugging his kayak into the chilly waters anywhere from Morris Cove to Nateekin Bay, in all seasons and conditions. Part of his time spent on the water included a summertime kayaking trip around Glacier Bay National Park.

There were over 170 attendees at the 2015 Firefighters' Ball held at the Grand Aleutian Hotel in Early December. It was the 17th year the Unalaska chapter of the Alaska State Firefighters Association has hosted the ball.

There was a buffet dinner, dancing, raffles and a silent auction.

Fire Chief Zac Schasteen said the event raised approximately $14,000 for the Unalaska Fire and EMS Department.
