City Council Seat D: Killian Baker

Courtesy

My name is Killian Baker, I was on born November 27th, 1993, and I am a third generation member of the community that has lived in Unalaska all 22 years of my life.  My mom, dad and grandparents on both sides have all resided in Unalaska as well.  Over my 22 years in Unalaska, I have seen people come and go, the community change for better and for worse, and went through and graduated from Unalaska City High School, after attending school in Unalaska since pre-school.  I am now a member of the community wishing to give back to the community that I grew up in and love so dearly, that has given so much to me.  I want to see this community thrive for years and years to come.  Since graduating from Unalaska City High School, I have purchased a piece of property on Standard Oil Hill which I am hoping to build a house on soon.  I also recently got married to my beautiful wife Amanda and I am currently being trained to be a heavy equipment mechanic by the local ILWU Longshoreman’s Union in the APL shop.

I am running for Unalaska City Council because I want to be a voice for all generations. I wish for all the people’s voices to be heard and I want to see this community grow for the better for years and years to come, so that the future generations including our kids, grandkids, and great grandkids can have an amazing community for them to grow up in, that they can love and enjoy, just as much as I have.  I want to run for City Council because I feel like it’s time for a change, I want to see the city grow together, I want to see new families move to Unalaska and not leave after a few years.  I want to see them stay and enjoy their time here, I want to stop hearing people talk about how bad it is to live in Unalaska, I have lived here my whole life and love it here!  I know I can’t make everybody happy, but I will do the best I possibly can in representing the people of this fine community we live in and will strive to make it better and better.  I will work my hardest if you elect me, Killian Baker, for Unalaska City Council.  I will research what needs to be researched, I will listen and speak for the will of the people and for all generations. The younger generations are the future of Unalaska and it’s time for everyone to be involved in helping our amazing community grow. Vote for Killian Baker, a voice for all generations.
