A 32-year old was found lying facedown on the side of the road in Unalaska Sunday morning.
The Unalaska Department of Public Safety says they responded to a report of an unconscious man in the road across from the NAPA auto parts store.
Mitchell B. Bovard of Albany, Oregon was taken to the Iliuliuk Family and Health Services clinic where he was pronounced dead.
Police Chief Mike Holman says Bovard’s death is still under investigation.
“We had blocked the road off for a short period of time looking for any possible evidence and collecting it," Holman said. "Any unattended death we always treat as suspicious.”
Bovard’s remains are being sent to the medical examiner for an autopsy.
At this point Holman says it’s too early to say what caused the 32-year-old's death.
“We’re looking into the cause," Holman said. "We’re spoken to family members. We’ve talked to medical providers and we’re waiting for results of the autopsy.”
Holman encourages anyone who was in the area of the NAPA auto store Sunday morning to contact the Department of Public Safety at 907-581-1233.
