The Unalaska Post Office is cutting back its services once again. For the next week, patrons will have a two-and- a-half-hour window to can pick up packages -- from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Postmaster Jamesa Marino-Tickle says the reduced hours are due to “staffing shortages.”
This isn’t the first cutback patrons have seen recently. Since early August, the Unalaska Post Office has been closed on Saturdays -- as a result of “reduced customer numbers.”
Regular hours for package-pickup will resume next week. There is no indication the post office will bring back counter service on Saturdays.
Correction: this story previously misstated some of the hours of closure. It has been corrected.
